The demand for professional expertise in auditory verbal practices continues to rise due to earlier identification of hearing loss, technology advancements, and the success of children in mainstream classrooms who benefited from such services.
Listen and Talk’s experienced staff promotes efforts to increase the number of professionals trained in listening and spoken language development for children with hearing loss.
We offer lectures and training sessions to student teachers and established professionals both in Washington State and in other parts of the country. Since 2002, Listen and Talk has provided 32 internship or practicum experiences.
These training opportunities have helped disperse knowledge about auditory verbal methods to the greater professional community - an important element for the future of deaf education and the overall advancement of Listen and Talk's larger mission.
