Children who are deaf or hard of hearing learn side-by-side with children who have normal hearing in our Blended Classroom Program at Listen and Talk’s Kirkland, and Seattle, WA campuses. Our highly-skilled teachers use auditory strategies throughout the day to help students develop listening skills and communicate using spoken language. All children in our classrooms benefit from small class sizes, high-quality sound systems, and a language-rich environment provided by specially trained educators.
Listen and Talk’s Blended Classroom Program is also available to children with typical hearing. Our curriculum uses auditory strategies to develop the fluent use of spoken language and listening skills for children with and without hearing loss. We rely on an active learning approach that allows children to develop critical thinking, social and self-advocacy skills while mastering concepts and pre-academic skills that lead to later success throughout their lives.
