Mike and Sharon Hunter’s commitment to Listen and Talk’s vision in that “no child is limited by hearing loss” plays a foundational role in the lives of the families that we serve. In their honor, Listen and Talk is proud to present the Mike and Sharon Hunter Life without Limits Award.

This award acknowledges a Listen and Talk alumnus that exemplifies the organization’s vision that no child is limited by hearing loss. This recognition celebrates the honoree’s self-advocacy, growth and achievement. Award recipients serve as an example for others who are deaf, hard-of-hearing or have a hearing loss and shows how they can accomplish something with determination and a visionary spirit. The honoree enriches their own communities and inspires those around them to reach their full potential.

How does the Nomination Process work?

This year’s Mike and Sharon Hunter Life without Limits Award recipient will be recognized at our 2024 Starlight Benefit Gala on March 16, 2024.

Awards Criteria

  • Nominees can be a current high school student or a high school graduate.
  • Deaf / Hard-of-Hearing Listen and Talk Alum.
  • Uses Listening and Spoken langauge (LSL) to communicate and engage with their communities.

Nomination Process

  • Nominations are submitted electronically.
  • All forms are filled out on Google Forms.
  • The selection committee reviews all nominations received.

Deadlines

  • Applications due by:
    February 23, 2024 at 5:00 PM
  • Award Recipient notified:
    February 27, 2024
