Marisa Mitchell graduated from Washington State University in 2010 with a degree in Organizational Communication. A couple of years after graduating, she learned about Listen and Talk through a co-worker. After a tour she knew that her career would be making a huge shift. For the following two school years, Marisa worked as an educational assistant at Listen and Talk in the pre-k classrooms. Inspired by that experience, she headed to the Midwest for graduate school. She attended Fontbonne University in St. Louis, Missouri for her master’s degree in Early Intervention in Deaf Education. After graduating, Marisa accepted a teaching position in the early childhood department with the Central Institute for the Deaf, where she taught for two years. She is very excited about coming full circle to join the Listen and Talk team once again, but this time as a teacher. Marisa loves working with families and creating a home-school connection and is looking forward to this school year. For fun, Marisa loves to practice yoga, do crossfit, go on walks, read books and eat.
