What is Listening and Spoken Language?
Listening and Spoken Language is an approach that relies on newborn hearing screenings, supportive intervention, and hearing technology to empower children with hearing loss to listen and communicate verbally with the surrounding world. Listen and Talk families partner with highly-specialized providers to utilize auditory-verbal strategies that support their child’s language development.
He did it! Kevin completed his 200-mile ride to support Listen and Talk! Thank you Kevin for embarking on this journey for kids who are deaf and hard of hearing!
Let’s wish Kevin a safe trip as he embarks on a 200 mile ride to support the kids at Listen and Talk!
We've partnered with @musiccenterofthenorthwest to provide high-quality, developmentally appropriate music lessons to our preschool students!
Our Blended Classroom students explored the vibrant and expressive art style of Alma Thomas. Thomas, the first African-American woman to have a solo exhibition at the Whitney Museum, was known for her colorful art pieces, and we can see her influence here in our student's work! Such creativity truly exemplifies the boundless potential within every child.
By gathering data, we hope to learn if music lessons have a positive impact on the development of auditory skills in preschool-aged children with hearing level differences. We are so proud of our team for leading this research. Learn more about this effort in our most recent blog! Link in bio.
